YAO SAILING
ADVENTURE
in Mission Bay June 11, 2005

Heading for the Mission Bay Drive bridge. Little did we know that...

Our mast would hit under the bridge and snap off ... (oops, sorry - different bridge, alternate universe).

Our compatriots under sail, once again taking a picture of us, taking a picture of them, taking a picture of us... you get the picture.

April and Andrea try a daring maneuver. They were shortly thereafter eaten by ravenous seagulls (mad seagull disease). We will miss them dearly. Notice the third boat of YAOian compatriots, with the sad sagging sail. Their adventure was a even more challenging.

A wind surfer surfs in the wind. What there was of it. Which was enough actually. All in all the weather was quite nice: not too hot, not too cold, not too bright, just enough wind. Bless the weather gods that blessed us.

The view from on high. Cynthia used Balinese dance signals to tell Dave which way to go. Andrea was hanging on for dear life (not). We were doing about 150 knots here. Um, well OK, probably more like 5.
